My first attempt at a fanart contest. This was for Narutofan.com's 2005 Halloween contest. I thought of the concept from an experience of my own many years ago. It turns out that "Kakashi" means scarecrow in Japanese. My favorite part is Sakura and Sasuke pushing Naruto forward to find out if the treats really are free or if they will get a trick instead.

Sadly, it did not place, but it's a good piece anyway =P

This is the greatest picture ever. I am going to set it as the back ground of my computer, because it is just that amazingly wonderful. Horray, Sasuke as a seductive vampire, and Naruto as a scrumptious pirate. Kakashi though; how perfect is his costume. I would definately take a trick from him if I was trick or treating. I am sad you did not place, because I think this is a very outstanding picture. I truly think that it deserves more than it got. I'm very glad you drew this, and posted it. I would be sad if I'd never gotten the pleasure of seeing it!

The person who judged the work liked a particular style that this piece didn't quite fit into. I recognize that the other work that did make it was really good, but I like my concept better. I think mostly, because everyone has experienced the "Is it real or not?" scarecrow, invisible man, etc while trick or treating as a kid and the subsequent screaming and running when it jumped at them.
